Within the framework of the Swiss Chairmanship of the OSCE, the Swiss Parliament will host the organisation's Parliamentary Assembly in Geneva for its autumn meeting. The occasion will bring together parliamentarians from 57 participating States to hear speakers from academic institutions, associations and foundations particularly concerned with the new security challenges. The experts will present to those attending the meeting ideas on how to control arms more effectively, how to make headway in the area of disarmament and above all how to tackle new forms of violence. Protecting civilians against explosive devices will also be at the heart of the discussions.
