Notification system for residents' register offices

Under articles 12 and 13 of the Swiss Abroad Act, which took effect on 1 November 2015, Swiss communes are required to notify the FDFA every time a Swiss citizen relocates abroad or returns to the commune.

    Residents' register offices may continue to notify the FDFA of departures and returns either in paper form or via encrypted email.
