The handbook, created by Switzerland and six Partner States, emphasizes the benefits of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for the peaceful settlement of disputes and aims at facilitating the access to the ICJ for interested States. The handbook contains examples of declarations for accepting the jurisdiction of the ICJ that may be used and adapted by the States at their discretion.
Today’s conflicts are rarely fought on battlefields away from populated areas, but they are also fought in public spaces, in the streets and in the markets. By adopting the present strategy, Switzerland hopes to achieve greater impact and commitment on behalf of victims of armed conflict.
This publication consists of six tables providing an overview of public development assistance (Swiss Confederation, cantons, communes) and private grants (NGOs) from Switzerland in 2012, by recipient country and by organization. It also includes a list of the main projects by country. The appendix contains a list of Swiss private organizations active in development cooperation.

In the flyer, the Swiss Humanitarian Aid commitment is outlined in broad terms. It also explains Humanitarian Aid’s mandate and strategies with specific examples. In addition, the flyer contains information on the Swiss Humanitarian Aid Unit and multilateral partners.
Switzerland supports the climate change mitigation and the environment protection measures in Poland. The 23 Environment and Infrastructure projects received CHF 199 million funding, out of the total CHF 489 million allocated for Poland. The projects deal with 1) Energy efficiency and renewable energy sources; 2) Waste disposal; 3) Public transport; 4) Biodiversity. The projects are implemented by the local self-governments and NGOs and often involve local population.A selection of projects illustraes ongoing activities in various countries, themes and areas of activity.
