Mr Cassis will take part in the summit on Thursday and Friday, and several high-level meetings are planned during the event. On Thursday evening he will meet Vivian Balakrishnan, Singapore's minister for foreign affairs. Like Switzerland, Singapore is a country at the cutting edge of innovation. "Scientific progress and its benefits are essential to multilateral governance, which is confronted with urgent and accelerating global challenges. This progress must be harnessed, managed and shared in a fair and inclusive manner," said Mr Cassis, who will take part in a ministerial panel on the subject on Friday.
