Book of condolence for victims of the tragic accident in Crans-Montana of 1 January 2026

Switzerland is deeply shaken by the tragic fire that occurred on New Year’s Eve in Crans-Montana. In this difficult time, our thoughts are with the families and friends of the victims, with all those who are still awaiting news of their loved ones, as well as with the rescue services and responders in Switzerland who are working tirelessly on the ground.

Switzerland extends its sincere thanks to all countries for their messages of condolence and solidarity. It is also grateful for the support and assistance provided by various governments, including the admission of injured persons to hospitals and help in establishing contact with the families of victims abroad.

A book of condolences is available on the website of the Swiss Confederation.
