The Heads of Mission of the European Union (EU), EU Member States and Norway and Switzerland issue the following joint statement in Singapore: The EU Delegation and the diplomatic missions of the EU Member States and of Norway and Switzerland call on the Singapore authorities to halt the execution of Nagaenthran a/l K Dharmalingam, and to commute his sentence to a non-capital sentence.

The Embassy is delighted to support two screenings of the film “La Mif” (“The Fam”) at the 25th German Film Festival (GFF), organised by the Goethe-Institut Singapore with The Projector. The film won Best Feature Film (Grand Prix of the Generation 14plus International Jury) at the 2021 Berlin International Film Festival, as well as the Golden Eye Award (in the Focus Competition) at the 17th Zurich Film Festival.

The Embassy is delighted to support two screenings of the film “Schwesterlein” (“My Little Sister”) at the 25th German Film Festival, organised by the Goethe-Institut Singapore with The Projector. The film garnered 5 wins at the 2021 Swiss Film Awards and was Switzerland's entry for Best International Feature at the 93rd Academy Awards

Workshop on innovative sustainable design and solutions in building and construction

The embassy is co-organising a workshop on "Innovative sustainable design and solutions in building and construction" with Archifest, Deloitte Centre for the Edge, Studio SKLIM, Häring Timber Technology, Affordable Abodes, Hilti & EHL Campus (Singapore). Save the date for the award winning drama ‘Paradise War – The story of Bruno Manser’ at the Europen Union Film Festival. Starring actor Sven Schelker, it won best actor at last year’s Swiss Film Awards. The film is based on the true story of Swiss environmental activist Bruno Manser (1954-2000).

Together with EHL Campus Singapore and Robert Parker Wine Advocate, the embassy is organising a wine masterclass on Swiss Wine and Women in Wine on 21 April at the EHL Campus. Society often expects men to ‘know about wine’. In many instances, the wine list and the pre-pour is first given to men when couples are dining together in a restaurant.
