Ambassador Urs Schmid hosts 10th Anniversary celebration of the Swiss – Serbian Chamber of Commerce in Belgrade

On 10th June 2024, the Ambassador of Switzerland, Mr. Urs Schmid hosted in the Swiss Residence a reception on the occasion of the celebration of the 10th jubilee of the Swiss – Serbian Chamber of Commerce in Belgrade.

He warmly welcomed the distinguished guest of honor, H.E. Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Mrs. Jelena Begovic and the esteemed Members and partners of the Swiss-Serbian Chamber of Commerce and congratulated them for a successful decade of an incredible intensification and diversification of our bilateral relations, specifically in the economic field, with a growing emphasis on innovation and scientific cooperation.

In this respect, Ambassador Schmid underlined the excellent cooperation with the Ministry of science, technological development and innovation in projects such as the Science and Technology parks, the Serbian lighthouse project BIO4 and the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR).

Ambassador Schmid emphasized that Switzerland remains determined and committed to continue developing our economic and trade relations, including in the areas of sustainable development, digital transformation, and innovation in the years ahead.”

The new President of the Board of the SSCC, Ana Govedarica, General Manager of Roche Serbia, reminded that “the Chamber is a private, non-profit, and self-financed business association. We are here to serve the needs of Swiss companies present in Serbia and to provide support in achieving our members’ business goals. We are striving to promote the Swiss way of doing business – innovative, transparent, expert-driven and efficient.”
