New Swiss ambassadors

Personnel changes and the conferment of ambassadorial titles will take place in 2025 at several Swiss representations and at the head office of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) as part of the FDFA's periodic transfer rotation and on the basis of appointments made by the Federal Council.

Appointments

Hanspeter Mock has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Federative Republic of Brazil, based in Brasilia.

Pietro Mona has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of The Gambia, the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, the Republic of Cabo Verde, the Republic of Mali and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, based in Dakar.

Tamara Mona has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Senegal, based in Dakar.

Nadine Olivieri Lozano has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Korea, based in Seoul.

Beatrice Schaer has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Croatia, based in Zagreb.

Andrea Semadeni has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Argentine Republic, based in Buenos Aires.

Benedikt Wechsler has been appointed permanent delegate of Switzerland to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and permanent representative of Switzerland to the International Organisation of La Francophonie, based in Paris (with the title of ambassador).

Conferment of ambassadorial title at the FDFA

Markus Leitner has been awarded the title of ambassador for his new role as head of the Asia and Pacific Division at the FDFA State Secretariat in Bern.
