Schengen member states have enacted the provisions of Article 25 a) of the Visa Code, waiving certain privileges that were until now granted to Ethiopian visa applicants. Switzerland as a Schengen associate state is subject to the same adopted provisions. This include:
a) The full set of supporting documents proving fulfilment of the entry conditions as set out in the Schengen Borders Code will have to be submitted at every application by all applicants.
b) The standard visa fee will apply to all applicants.
c ) The standard processing time of 15 days will now be 45 days (starting from the secured appointment date. Previous correspondences/enquiries will not be part of the count).
d) Only single-entry visas will be issued.

Family Reunification
For an appointment for family reunification send copies in one email of the following documents to addisababa.visa@eda.admin.ch
** The original Ethiopian civil status and court documents must be issued by the Vital Events Registrations Agency (VERA) and legalised by the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
All documents only written in Amharic, Oromia or Tigrinya need to be translated into German, French, Italian or English by one of the Embassy’s officially recognized translation offices.
