New Swiss ambassadors

Personnel changes and the conferment of ambassadorial titles will take place in 2025 at several Swiss representations and at the head office of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) as part of the FDFA's periodic transfer rotation and on the basis of appointments made by the Federal Council.

Appointments

Serge Alexandre Bavaud has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, based in Algiers.

Stefan Klötzli has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Ecuador, based in Quito.

Nicolas Randin has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Mozambique, based in Maputo.

Christoph Sommer has been appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of North Macedonia, based in Skopje.

Conferment of an ambassadorial title at the FDFA

Pierre-Yves Fux has been awarded the title of ambassador for his new role as head of the Eurasia Division (EURA) at the FDFA State Secretariat in Bern.
