Public Diplomacy, Culture and Media

Objectives

We promote the values, culture and history of Switzerland in its multiple dimensions. In the field of culture, we work closely with local authorities, academics, cultural institutions and foundations to strengthen existing institutional and cultural ties between Switzerland and South China. We act as focal point for all issues related to media work.

Tasks

  • Support Switzerland’s cultural policy as well as Swiss artists in their projects at the six provinces within the consular district
  • Present multilingual Switzerland in its diversity to the Chinese public in order to foster a better understanding of Switzerland’s realities, as well as of Switzerland’s diversity and attractiveness.
  • Organize or co-host various events with a Swiss interest in the consular district and work closely with all relevant cultural institutions in both Switzerland and China, and with all Swiss official representations in China
  • Provide information on Switzerland’s history, political system, economy and culture
  • Support the work of journalists working for Swiss and Chinese media
  • Maintain social media presence on WeChat to inform the public about important announcements and latest events between Switzerland and South China
