Strengthening Youth Protection and Juvenile Delinquency Prevention in Bulgaria
The project aims at reducing the number of cases of youth violence and juvenile delinquency in Bulgaria through the reinforcement of the capacities of the Bulgarian actors including law enforcement, teachers, youth groups etc. The project is part of the thematic fund security in Bulgaria. - The awareness and knowledge on youth protection and juvenile delinquency prevention amongst Bulgarian youth, school teachers, communities and families, but also amongst police officers continue to increase through the updated nationwide program, the distribution of information brochures and other new information/communication tools to protect youth and prevent juvenile delinquency.
- Updated National Police Training Programme on “Work of Police in Schools”
- Hands-on and manual on practical training for
inspector/operative officers from the Child Pedagogic Rooms set up - Capacity of all police officers dealing with juvenile perpetrators all over the country (300) increased as they have been trained to work with the under the project developed centralised, automated information system for combating juvenile delinquency and child protection.
- Enhanced administrative and operational capacity of the National Police General Directorate to prevent and respond to youth violence and juvenile delinquency.
- Institutional partnership, experience sharing and transfer of knowledge between Switzerland and Bulgaria in the field of youth protection and juvenile delinquency prevention took place.
