Press releases, 12.05.2025

On 16 May, in the Albanian capital Tirana, President of the Swiss Confederation Karin Keller-Sutter will represent Switzerland at the sixth summit of the European Political Community. Heads of state and government from around 45 countries across the continent are expected to attend, along with representatives of EU institutions and other European organisations.

Ms Keller-Sutter will participate in the thematic session on economic policy titled Boosting European Competitiveness and Security through Innovation and Resilience. Participants will also discuss Europe’s democratic resilience, the security of the continent, and migration and mobility issues. In addition to the official talks, Ms Keller-Sutter will hold bilateral meetings in Tirana with several of her counterparts.

The European Political Community (EPC) is a platform to strengthen political dialogue and cooperation on key shared issues across the European continent, with the aim of promoting security, stability and prosperity. Since its launch in Prague in October 2022, summits have alternated between EU and non-EU countries. The next EPC summit will take place this autumn in Denmark.
