Rising Together - Building Resilient & Inclusive Communities through Women & Youth Empowerment
The project aims to address widespread Gender-Based violence against women and girls in both Rohingya refugee and host communities, as well as the need for skill development among youth, in Cox's Bazar and Bhasan Char. In partnership with UNFPA, Switzerland aims to improve protection services and provide training opportunities, thereby reinforcing its commitment to gender equality and social inclusion.

Hintergrund | Amid the Rohingya refugee crisis in Cox's Bazar, vulnerable populations, particularly women and young people, face unique challenges. Women and girls endure high levels of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and have limited access to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services, often due to harmful cultural norms, economic insecurity, and inadequate protection. Young people lack access to education, livelihoods, and social opportunities, putting them at risk of child marriage, teenage pregnancy, human trafficking, and recruitment into organised armed groups. |
Ziele | The project equips women, girls, adolescents, and yout form both the Rohingya refugee and host communiti9es in Cox's Bazar and Bhasan Char to mitigate and prevent protection related issues, as weel as promote youth development and resiliency amidst a protracted crisis and time of political fragility. |
Zielgruppen | The project directly targets 64'400 women and girls and 33'190 young individuals (young women and men aged 10-24 years) and will indirectly reach 259'600 individuals who are family members of the women and youth targeted by the project. |

Outcome 1: Women, girls, adolescents, and youth from both Rohingya refugee and host communities receive increased, improved, and integrated services addressing youth development, GVB, and SRH. Outcome 2: Rohingya refugee and host communities strengthen community mechanisms that promote youth development, prevent GBV, and improve SRH outcomes. |
Resultate |
Erwartete Resultate: Output 1.1: Women and adolescents/youth have access to high-quality, integrated services for youth development, GBV, SRH, and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS). Output 1.2: Coordination mechanisms for multi-sectoral and integrated services are strengthened. Output 2.1: Women and young people including community members, promote positive social norms regarding GBV, youth development, and SRH.
